PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Aquilegia Clementine 'Salmon Rose'
Columbine, Granny's Bonnet 'Salmon Rose'
Beautiful spurless, double, salmon-pink blooms on wiry stems – a very special aquilegia! These seeds were taken from plants away from other aquilegias, but it is still possible that there has been some cross-pollination. However, in my experience this variety tends to breed true.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow shallowly February–June or September–October in pots or modules in a propagator or sealed plastic bag at 15–20C/59–70F. Do not exclude light, which is necessary to aid germination; this can take from 1–3 months. Plant out spring-sown seedlings when large enough to handle. Although not strictly necessary, autumn-sown plants may benefit from being overwintered in a coldframe before planting out in spring.
