PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
This lovely campanula bears drooping, tubular bells an inch or more long, coloured soft pink fading to white at the tips, in mid-summer. The leaves, which form an attractive basal rosette, are rich-green, heart-shaped, slightly glossy and serrated.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow thinly on the surface in a small pot, January-March, pressing lightly into the compost. Place pot in propagator or plastic bag, and do not exclude light as this is required for germination, which should take 14-28 days. Aim to maintain a temperature of 68F. Prick out seedlings as soon as they are large enough to handle, growing on in 3in pots. Harden off before planting out when risk of frost is past.
