PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).

This pretty plant produces a basal rosette of narrow, grey-green leaves, above which wiry stems rise in summer, topped with white flowers with violet-blue eyes. The papery seedheads are very attractive and are useful for dried flower arrangements.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow under glass in spring or autumn on the surface of moist, free-draining compost, covering with a fine sprinkling of compost or fine vermiculite. Transplant seedlings into individual posts or modules and grow on (plants from autumn sowings are best kept in a cold frame over winter), planting out in full sun in the spring, in any reasonable, well-drained soil. |
