PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Chaenomeles speciosa 'Geisha Girl' AGM
A very attractive and useful hardy, semi-evergreen shrub with masses of soft peach flowers in Spring. Easy to grow and well worth trying. Flowers are nectar-rich so attractive to bees. Also makes a good hedging plant.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Needs no special treatment if grown in autumn, but in warmer periods it is advisable to stratify the seed for a couple of months in the fridge or freezer. Germination should take place once the temperature reaches about 70F (or heat can be provided). Either allow plants to spread at will, or prune out forward-pointing stems and train against a wall.
