PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Geranium sanguineum Album AGM
About a foot high, this is very attractive front-of-border choice, with a succession of pure white flowers and inch or more across above divided mid-green foliage. Blooms profusely in late spring/early summer, but continues to flower more sporadically for months more. It is very happy in dry and exposed areas, even in coastal districts. Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's AGM.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow in moist modules or small pots, .25in/6mm deep in spring or autumn. A little heat may aid germination, which should occur from about 10 days, but do not overheat (maximum 70F/20C) as this may deter germination. Grow seedlings on and in the case of autumn sowings, keep in a cold frame or sheltered spot during the winter, planting out in spring.
