PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Lonicera japonica Halliana
Gold and Silver Flower, Japanese honeysuckle
A vigorous twining shrub, with mid green foliage and double-tongued, sweetly vanilla scented blooms, opening white and fading to yellow. NOTE: I have learned that germination rate of seeds of this plant is extremely low, even when fresh, so to avoid disappointment to my customers I have removed this item.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow in autumn outside, keeping in a cold frame for protection over winter, or mix seed with moist compost or vermiculite in a sealed plastic bag and refrigerate for 4-12 weeks, then sow in a pot and germinate at 55-64F/13-18C. Germination is likely to be both low and erratic. Pot on seedlings individually and plant out when large enough.
