PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Mediterranean Bells, Sicilian Honey Lily, Ornamental Onion, Sicilian Garlic
Very limited stock!
A fascinating plant! Clusters of waxy, bell-shaped flowers in shades of cream, pink and green appear in early summer, dangling on tall, slender stems. As the seed pods develop the flowers turn upwards. In some European countries the plant is more likely to be found in the vegetable plot than in the flower beds - the leaves taste like garlic and can be chopped and added to salads. In Bulgaria a condiment called samardala is made by mixing finely chopped leaves with an equal amount of salt and drying in a warm, shady place. Lovely sprinkled on fresh tomatoes, cucumbers or baked potatoes.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
