PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).

This most attractive perennial, which bears vividly orange blooms with dark spots, is a member of the Iris family. A lovely addition to a sunny hot bed, where it thrives even in quite arid conditions, although it will also tolerate light shade. A plant that is very easy to grow and maintain, despite its exotic appearance.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow 0.25in deep in autumn and overwinter outdoors in a cold frame or sheltered spot for germination in the spring. At other times can be grown under glass, first placing the sown pot in a plastic bag in the fridge for 3 weeks to aid germination. Grow seedlings in on 9cm pots, planting out when large enough. |
