PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Clarkia 'Crown Double Mixed'
Sold out for now
So reminiscent of English cottage gardens! Masses of soft, double flowers in reds, pinks, mauves and white. This variety produces tall plants. Make a lovely cut flower.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
This plant does not transplant well, so best sown direct after last frosts, thinly, 0.25in/6mm deep, thinning to 9in apart . Alternatively, sow very thinly in small modules in a cool greenhouse, thinning to one plant per module and plant out when all danger of frost is past. Can also be sown in a frost-free greenhouse in autumn for planting out the following spring.
