PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).

Black henbane produces soft, downly leaves and strange, but beautiful, pale creamy-yellow flowers intricately veined in purple. The seed pods are also rather attractive; they have a little round lid which falls off when the pods are ripe, releasing the seeds. All parts of the plant are toxic. NOTE: Restricted to one packet only per customer. |

Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Direct sow thinly 5mm deep in autumn or spring, in a sunny position, thinning young plants to about 18in apart. Germination of spring-sown seeds may be aided by cold stratifying in the fridge for 2 weeks prior to sowing. Depending on soil fertility and other conditions, the plant may grow tall enough to benefit from light support. |
