PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).
Primula pulverulenta AGM
Mealy primrose, Candelabra primula
Sold out for now
Whorls of pink or soft red flowers clothe erect stems, at the base of which are rosettes of toothed leaves. This primula can grow to 2 feet high, but will usually be a little shorter.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
The most important thing to remember when growing primula seeds is that the temperature must not be too high, as this can inhibit germination. Aim for 50-60F/10-15C. Sow any time between autumn and spring into a good quality, most compost, barely covering (if some seeds are still visible, that's fine). Germination can be slow and erratic, and can sometimes take months.
