The flowers of this interesting, shade-loving plant are very soft, pale green, sometimes with a red margin and are leathery in texture. It is a haven for hibernating ladybirds, which can be found nestling in and around the flowers all winter.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow outside, where they are to flower, or in pots or trays at any time of year, but preferably in autumn, as the seeds must have a lengthy period of cold and damp in order to germinate successfully. Thin direct-sown seedlings to a foot or so apart, or transplant potted seedlings and grow on in individual pots until ready to plant out. |
