Paeonia daurica subsp. mlokosewitschii AGM
Peony 'Molly the Witch'

||||||||||||
This gorgeous paeony, with its blue-green foliage and large, soft creamy-yellow flowers and rich golden stamens, followed by interesting seed pods that are crimson red inside with blue-black seeds, is a much recommended herbaceous perennial. Note: Seeds harvested August 2018. They will be supplied in damp compost or vermiculite to help hasten germination.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow at any time but preferably while fresh, half an inch deep in slightly gritty compost in pots outside (forced heat can impede germination - allow the seasons to provide the right conditions). Keep moderately moist but not waterlogged and never permit to dry out completely. It may take 18-24 months for germination to occur. Generally there is root development only in the first year, so even though you may not see signs of life, do not discard the contents of the pot for at least two years. Grow seedlings on in 3 inch pots until large enough to plant out in good, fertile, free draining soil. |
