Soft spikes of blue flowers adorn this pretty perennial wildflower throughout the summer, above strong stems with dark-green, nettle-like leaves. All parts of the plant have a strong scent of aniseed. Also known as Agastache foeniculum or Lophanthus anisatus.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow under glass in spring onto the surface of moist, well-drained compost, covering with the barest sprinkling of sieved compost or fine vermiculite, as light is required for germination, which usually occurs in 14-30 days, but can be erratic, so do not discard the pot too soon. Transplant seedlings into individual pots and grow on until all danger of frost has passed before planting out in a sunny position. |
