Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow under glass on the surface of moist, well-drained compost at 15-20C. Cover with a thin layer of sieved compost, fine vermiculite or grit. Germination usually takes 1-3 months but can be erratic. If there is no germination within 30 days, put in a plastic bag and place in the fridge for 2-4 weeks, then return to the greenhouse. Transplant seedlings into 9cm pots, then plant out when large enough into moisture-retentive soil in sun or part shade. This is a vigorous spreading plant. Keep under control by digging out unwanted runners in spring or autumn.
