Looking for all the world like miniature watermelons, these bite-sized cucumbers are full of flavour, with a hint of lime! Usually grown as an annual, but see growing instructions below.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow shallowly in late spring under glass, covering with a sprinkling of sieved compost or fine vermiculite. Carefully move seedlings into individual pots or modules and plant out when all danger of frost has passed. They can also be grown in a greenhouse, allowed to scramble through other large plants such as tomatoes or melons. Although usually grown as an annual, the roots can be removed from the pots in autumn and stored in barely moist compost over the winter in a cool, dry place and planted up again the following spring. |
