PLEASE NOTE: Since plants are often sourced from the garden to order, sizes do vary a little, depending on how they come out of the ground, but I always endeavour to give a little more rather than less! They are sometimes shipped bare-rooted, but will approximate the size specified (e.g. a 9cm pot).

Italian arum 'Marmoratum', Variegated Cuckoopint, Lords-and-Ladies
Beautiful plant for shade!
The boldly marbled, arrow-shaped leaves appear in autumn and last right through most of the year. Seedlings may look unpromising at first, but as the plants grow the leaves develop their beautiful markings. Plant under trees to light up dark areas. When plants are on offer they are usually self seeded and will be variable in size, but will quickly settle in - just make sure they get adequate water until they establish.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Direct sow in autumn or in modules or small pots in an unheated greenhouse or cold frame during the winter, 0.2in/3mm deep, transplanting seedlings into individual pots. Germination is often erratic - expect to wait 30-180 days. Plant out when plants have established a good root system. If soil is very heavy, work in plenty of humus-rich soil or compost to the planting hole.
