Digitalis lutea

A lovely plant for woodland areas. Small, tubular yellow blooms are borne on delicate spikes - a much more dainty plant in all respects than the common pink foxglove. Although it will tolerate both sun and dry soil, this plant is happiest in rich, moist soil and dappled shade. Digitalis lutea is said to be a good companion plant that helps nearby plants to flourish!
Sowing and/or growing instructions
It will help young plants to get away successfully if some good compost or organic material is incorporated into the planting hole and the area kept moist. Otherwise no special treatment is required. The plant is a short-lived perennial, but self seeds happily in the right conditions. |
