| This most unusual plant has spherical, bronze yellow heads with ruffles of yellow petals beneath, like little petticoats, on strong, straight stems with rich green foliage. It makes a unique cut flower. | ||||||||||||
| Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
| Sow in a propagator or sealed plastic bag onto the surface of good quality, moist compost at 55-59F/13-15C. Do not exclude light as this is needed for germination, which usually takes 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off before planting out in final positions 12in/30cm apart. Autumn sowings are best overwintered in a cold frame. |
