Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Sow in late winter, on the surface of very moist compost, mixing the tiny seeds with a little fine sand to aid distribution. Barely cover with the barest sprinkling of sieved compost or fine vermiculite, tamping down firmly. Keep evenly moist and in the light, which is required for germination. This can be sporadic, taking anything from 60 to 90 days or more. Plant seedlings in individual pots or modules when large enough to handle and grow on until large enough to plant out. Although this plant is often grown as a pond marginal, it will also flourish in relatively dry soil. |
