A lovely addition at the back of the hot bed, this tall, robust, long-lived perennial is a traditional cottage garden plant that has been grown and enjoyed for many generations. Rich red clusters of flowers on tall stems. There is a tendency for the plants to lose their lower leaves as the season progresses, so best to place where other plants provide a foil. NOTE: Externally sourced seeds. |

Can be sown at any time of year (although they may wait until spring to germinate), either direct or in an unheated greenhouse or cold frame. Cut plants back by a third after flowering. |
