A lovely addition at the back of the hot bed, this tall, robust, long-lived perennial is a traditional cottage garden plant that has been grown and enjoyed for many generations. Rich red clusters of flowers on tall stems. There is a tendency for the plants to lose their lower leaves as the season progresses, so best to place where other plants provide a foil.

NOTE: Externally sourced seeds.

Sowing and/or growing instructions
Can be sown at any time of year (although they may wait until spring to germinate), either direct or in an unheated greenhouse or cold frame. Cut plants back by a third after flowering.
