Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Sow seeds outdoors at any time, in a cool, sheltered place, covering with 5mm sifted compost. Avoid too much heat as this can prevent germination. Be patient - germination can be erratic and may not occur until the seeds have been subjected to winter chill. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and grow on until large enough to plant out. Bulbs should be planted 15cm deep and 15cm apart. Large clumps can be split in autumn or spring. NOTE: It can take up to 3 years for bulbs to reach flowering size. |
