| Although strictly speaking perennial, antirrhinums are more often treated as annuals. This variety, which is tall, with deep, red-green foliage and very dark red (almost black) blooms, makes a dynamic statement, particularly when grown next to plants with light-green foliage. Highly recommended. | ||||||||||||

| Antirrhinums need light to germinate. Sow in Spring, covering with a very thin layer of soil or compost. Transfer seedlings to pots or modules and grow on until large enough to plant out, 6-10 in/15-25 cm apart. Germination time 7-14 days. Plant in sun or part-shade. Although generally sturdy plants that cope well with the elements, in exposed, windy situations a little light support may be beneficial. |
