Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Plant the rhizomes shallowly, preferably in free-draining soil, so that any roots are covered but the top surface of the rhizome is 0.5in/1cm above soil level. Make sure to provide water until the rhizomes establish. May need a little support on exposed sites. Cut back flowering stems after flowering and cut the whole plant hard back in autumn. When the plant becomes congested, lift and dispose of old or diseased parts of rhizomes, replanting newer sections that have good 'eyes' for the next season, 18-24 in apart. |
