A lovely small perennial sweet pea with small, coral-red blooms and rounded foliage. Ideal for growing over small structures or permitted to climb through medium-sized shrubs. Just a few small plants available. The blooms are unscented, but very attractive.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Soak seeds for 24 hours prior to sowing in good quality, moist compost from Autumn to Spring, 3 to a pot, 10mm deep at 20-25C/68-77F. Germination usually takes 7-21 days. Grow seedlings on cooler conditions, overwintering autumn-sown plants in a cold frame. Plant out in a sunny position after all danger of frost has passed. Can also be direct sown in Spring, 2 or 3 to a station, removing the weaker seedlings. Fully hardy once established, this plant can reach 8 feet in height, but sometimes dies down completely later in the year, to come to life again the following spring. Remove dead foliage but do not disturb the roots. |
