Garden Phlox, Perennial Phlox - Mixed

Perennial phlox does not usually come true from seed, so although these seeds come from the white and pink varieties illustrated, they could produce plants of almost any hue within the range from white to dark-pink. All very pretty, though, and they make a great cut flower!
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Sow in a pot of good quality compost, covering to a depth of 2.5mm. To aid germination, give the pot 2-4 weeks in a sealed plastic bag at 20C/70F followed by a chilled period in a fridge at about 4C/39F for 4-6 weeks, then bring into a temperature of 12C/53F for germination. Prick out seedlings when they have formed a pair of true leaves and grow on in individual pots in a warm, light place, but out of direct sunlight; then move to a sheltered spot outside until the large enough to plant out. |
