Sowing time/depth ,
The picture really doesn't do justice to the colour of this opium poppy, which is a true, rich red with a black centre. The seeds were gathered from a plant that appeared well after the other types in the garden had been and gone, so hopefully cross-pollination will have been at a minimum.
Sowing and/or growing instructions
Direct sow in autumn or spring, in a sunny position, thinning to about 9-15in apart.
