Sowing and/or growing instructions
Most sources suggest sowing January to March, but in my experience, later sowings - up to mid-way through April - are more reliable, particularly in an unheated hreenhouse, and the plants soon catch up. Soak overnight and/or nick the seed coating, then sow singly in modules or two to a 3in pot, at a depth of 0.25in/6mm, under glass . Pinch out growing tips of seedlings when they are a few inches tall. Acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in soil that is not too fertile when all risk of frost has passed, providing support.
