This delightful plant with its tall spikes of tiny purple or pink flowers resembling miniature snapdragons, which appear from a basal clump of fine, grey-green leaves, is attractive not only to right-minded humans, but to wildlife... it is much loved by butterflies and bees. It flowers from June right through to the first frosts and fresh flower spikes are lovely in flower arrangements. |
Sowing and/or growing instructions |
Sow direct in Autumn or Spring, thinning as required. Self-seeds enthusiastically, but shallow-rooted, so it is not difficult to remove unwanted plants. N.B. It is impractical to remove all chaff, so a little is present. Just sow the contents of the pack as normal. |
