A very attractive and useful plant; long lasting, purple flower spikes of tiny flowers appear from late spring until mid summer and make a good filler in flower arrangements.Very attractive to bees. | ||||||||||||
Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Sow in spring in pots on the surface of good quality compost, barely covered, and place in a propagator or sealed plastic bag at 70F/20C . Germination takes 7-14 days. Can also be sown in the autumn in a cold frame. Cut plant back to 1 foot after flowering to encourage a new crop of flowering stems in the autumn. Ensure that plants obtain enough moisture. |
