A lovely front of border plant in shades of mid-blue, pale-blue and occasionally white. Very easy to grow and flowers for months. Plants can become leggy but this is easily remedied; cut them back to within 3-4 inches of the ground and they will soon regenerate to produce compact plants and a fresh flush of flowers. I have been informed by a reliable source that white plants come true from seed, so am offering these separately. |
Sowing and/or growing instructions |
Sow thinly and very shallowly in a pot under glass at a temperature of around 58-65F, transplanting into individual small pots or modules when first true leaves appear. Plant out about 9 inches apart when strong enough to fend for themselves. Some sources suggest that a period of cold aids germination. If you wish to try this, place the sown pot in a plastic bag, seal and place in the fridge for a few weeks (checking from time to time just in case any have sprouted - these should, of course, be potted on) then bring into warmth and proceed as above. |
