Sowing and/or growing instructions | ||||||||||||
Sow at any time, but as soon as possible on receipt, in good, soil-based compost. Barely cover with fine grit or compost. Germination will often be improved by keeping in a propagator at 15-20C, but good results should be obtained in a cold frame or cold greenhouse, and in fact a cold period followed by warmth may be beneficial. Grow seedlings on in individual pots, planting out after all danger of frost has passed. Support is advised in all but the most sheltered positions as stems tend to be brittle and will snap very easily. |
